Some people abroad are unhappy that the American people finally took a stand and elected businessman Donald Trump to be our President. It’s because now they’ll have to contend with a steel-spine President who, unlike Barack Obama, is willing to stare down foreign leaders instead of just bowing before them and admitting defeat.
The Chinese government has repeatedly been running angry editorials in its state-run newspaper about Trump, because they’re filled with anxiety about what Trump will do to him. North Korea’s dictator Kim Jong Un went so far as to try to test Trump to see if he would flinch, and Trump showed him in an epic way that he is not going to bend to him.
Kim Jong Un was apparently angry that the United States continues to flex its superior might by holding joint military exercises with South Korea. Said a chest-beating Kim Jong Un in a New Year’s Day message aimed squarely at Trump, “We have reached the final stage in preparations to test-launch an intercontinental ballistic missile.”
Right after being sworn into office, Trump hit Kim Jong Un back with a message aimed back at him and all other enemies of America. Trump stated on the White House website that the “Trump Administration will pursue the highest level of military readiness. President Trump will end the defense sequester and submit a new budget to Congress outlining a plan to rebuild our military.”
He added, “We will provide our military leaders with the means to plan for our future defense needs. We will also develop a state-of-the-art missile defense system to protect against missile-based attacks from states like Iran and North Korea.” Are you glad that Trump stood up to this North Korean maniac?
